Hi, I'm Grace. I'm a boy mom. Before I became a boy mom, I was a girl's girl. But before either of those things, I was the daughter of an immigrant mother.

My mom and I lived under the same roof, but it often felt like we existed in two parallel worlds. Love was always present and expressed through action. Play was reserved for siblings and friends. I can also see how often we struggled to understand one another. I learned to navigate the culture gap by turning to my girlfriends for the conversations I didn't know how to have at home.

Those early experiences stayed with me and shaped my career. For more than a decade, I designed educational and cultural exchange programs centered on empathy, perspective-taking, and helping people connect across differences. Now, as a mother, I find myself returning to the same questions: How do we create space for both care and curiosity? How do we help one another feel seen? And how do we do it with joy?

Kinship grew from those questions. It’s a retreat for mothers and daughters to rest, play, and build the trust and emotional safety that make understanding one another easier as they grow together.
